Richard Vorisek Founder & CEO
Richard Vorisek is the Founder & CEO of Richard Vorisek Associates, a global retail and brand development firm focused on growing businesses in the retail, e-commerce, fashion and hospitality industries. Richard oversees all aspects of the consulting business including partnership and client development. The firm's clients are located in the U.S. as well as in China, Europe, South America, and Mexico, and range from designer brands, specialty & department store retailers, e-commerce companies, global wine distributors, restaurants, and private clubs. Richard is also an operating partner in the venerable consulting firm Marvin Traub Associates, and chief operating partner at Domaine de Gourjo vineyard.
Richard is an accomplished retail executive and consultant with over 25 years of global retail and luxury brand experience specializing in areas of merchandising, operations, brand strategy, interim management, and new business development. Richard started his retail career in the training program at Macy’s where he was fast tracked through the ranks of store operations, buying, and merchandising.
As Senior Vice President of merchandising and planning of International for Polo Ralph Lauren, Richard developed and implemented a global merchandising strategy for both retail and wholesale channels that resulted in significantly upgrading the luxury business and fashion image. Previously, Richard was Global Vice President of Merchandising for DFS Group Ltd., LVMH’s $5 billion luxury travel retail division where he was responsible for all areas of apparel and accessories including the development of brand and product assortment strategies in partnership with the world’s leading brands.
Richard has varied interests within the investment community and is currently invested and on the boards of: Inkshares, a newly formed crowd-funded publishing platform; and SpeakingPhoto, a mobile photo app that allows users to annotate photos and share them through social media outlets.
Richard is a proud supporter and fund raiser for Housing Works in NYC, a non-profit that works to provide housing, healthcare and other services to men, women and children living with AIDS/HIV. Additionally, Richard makes regular trips to Haiti, supporting various efforts including Housing Works’ implementation of a human rights violation reporting system.
